Since Spring 2015, participants in the different competitions have collectively raised more than $150,000 for different area nonprofits they support. Five different nonprofits were represented by different teams in this year's race: Combined Campaign for Justice, Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Mike Clark Legacy Foundation, Team Sanfilippo Foundation, and Urban Bike Project of Wilmington. For raising the most money in the Summer Race to Raise fundraising contest, Team Sanfilippo won a bonus $225 prize for their nonprofit beneficiary. In addition, each of the winners in five different divisions won $25 prizes to donate to those nonprofits. Stahnke, Wintermantel, Lord Hounderton, and Team CF donated their prize money to Urban Bike Project. Team We Thought They Said Rum split their prize money between Combined Campaign for Justice and Urban Bike Project. Team Double Trouble donated their prize money to Mike Clark Legacy Foundation. Team SYMAJI donated their prize money to Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. In total, the five nonprofits won or raised $740 through the First State Duathlon and Delaware Charity Challenge.
