The First State Duathlon is a fun competition that allows fans of trail or cross country runs and mountain biking to race and ride along the trails at one of Delaware's beautiful state parks, Bellevue State Park, which is located in Wilmington, Delaware.

Our Mission

We believe competition is healthy for the community. The goal of the First State Duathlon is to help promote and foster that competitive spirit in a fun way. The First State Duathlon is an initiative of Spur Impact, a Delaware nonprofit organization focused on helping to inspire professionals to get more involved and make an impact in their careers and communities.

Part of the Delaware Charity Challenge

  • The First State Duathlon is proud to be the official Summer Delaware Charity Challenge competition.

  • The Delaware Charity Challenge is a unique fundraising and athletic competition designed to give organizations, families, and individuals a fun way to raise money and awareness for their favorite causes.

  • Over nine competitions since Spring 2015, the Delaware Charity Challenge has helped teams and individuals collectively raise (as of September 2019) more than $195,000 for different area nonprofits. Many teams have raised more than $4,000 by themselves for their favorite charities.

  • Teams and competitors can raise money through the First State Duathlon as part of the Delaware Charity Challenge summer Race to Raise fundraising competition.

  • Nonprofits and their supporters are encouraged to donate or support their favorite nonprofit throughout the year and can donate or create fundraising pages on behalf of their favorite nonprofit at DEGives.org.
